Confidentiality

Confidentiality is very important to all Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services staff and volunteers. We know how hard it can be to talk about sexual violence and we want everyone to feel as comfortable as possible.

Our confidentiality policy restricts all staff and volunteers from sharing any information about a caller with anyone outside of the agency. This includes police officers, doctors, family members, friends, and therapists. The exceptions to this are:

If someone is in danger of hurting themselves or someone else.

If information we are given must be reported to DHHS as mandated by law.

If a survivor has signed a release of information form and is asking Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services for assistance.
